PG DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION (PGDJMC)


  The Regulations for the PGDJMC examinations

There will be final examination at the end of each academic year.

There will be 4(four) written papers of 3 hours duration each. The fifth paper is divided into (i) A project work -30% (ii) Viva-Voce-20% and (iii) Internal Assessment Test -50%.

Each paper shall carry 100 marks. The minimum pass marks required for passing the examination shall be 35 marks in each paper separately and 40 percent in aggregate for award of the Diploma.

A failed candidate is eligible to appear in a maximum of 2 papers in the final examination provided the candidate clears minimum 3 papers securing 40% marks in aggregate i.e. total 120 marks.

A candidate for the PGDJMC course must pass his/ her examination in maximum three consecutive chances after the date of admission.


   

  Award of Diploma

 A candidate will be awarded PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication on passing the examination with an aggregate of 40 percent i.e. minimum marks of 200.

Candidates securing 40% marks but less than 60% will be declared as having passed in the Second Class.

Candidates securing 60% or above will be declared as having passed in the First Class.
